PARIS, February 17, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Eighteen Moldovan wineries attended Wine Paris
The three-day event culminated with a Wine of Moldova masterclass hosted by H.E. the Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova in France, Corina C?lug?ru, Stefan Iamandi, Director of the National Vine and Wine Office, and the journalist Robert Joseph, discussing the importance of the ’10 revolutionary years of building a wine brand national’ in Moldova.
“What we are experiencing today is an opportunity. In the next decade, we may not talk about a revolution but about a transformation or reinvention, especially in the Moldovan wine industry,” said ambassador Corina C?lug?ru.
He added: “Moldova is a country of rich heritage with hard-working people. Our achievements in the wine industry are a testament to the political and international support, but most importantly, the dedication of our wine producers and the resilience of our people. “This, I believe, is the cornerstone of our progress.”
Meanwhile, ?tefan Iamandi highlighted the nation’s continued success in export markets, as premium Moldovan wines gain ground abroad. “After ’10 revolutionary years of building a national wine brand’, the value of Moldova’s wine exports to Western countries has tripled,” he said.
Robert Joseph also observed that “people have fallen in love with Moldovan wine and are telling other people about it; however, it is not easy to make their voices heard. So Moldova is really just beginning the journey.”
Participating wineries have described Wine Paris 2024 as a “great opportunity to be alongside the largest producers.”
