A focal point of the event was the on-site visit of Sigenergy’s innovative SigenStor energy storage solution at an emblematic winery in the region of Murcia, Spain. This grid-connected project, commissioned in April 2024, was built for a prominent winery in Spain, which has a centuries-old legacy in the field of wine production. With more than 2,000 hectares of vineyards throughout Spain, some of which are over 100 years old, the winery produces renowned red wines of exceptional quality. Far from resisting progress, tradition and innovation coexist harmoniously in the winery, a vision expressed by the owner in the early 2000s with the installation of his first photovoltaic plants.
By expanding existing photovoltaic systems and adding storage solutions as well as electric vehicle charging, they are now adapting to the winery’s continued production growth and addressing rising energy costs. This has been achieved by deploying over 63 SigenStor units at three different locations around the winery, with a combined capacity of around 2.88 MWh.
In terms of EV charging capabilities, the facility features 3 Sigen EVDC charging modules for free EV charging of winery guests, facilitating 25 kW fast charging for EVs (1 hour/ 130 km mileage), which underlines the winery’s dedication to zero carbon initiatives. Sigen’s AI-powered intelligent loading and unloading modes further enhance the winery’s energy-saving efforts.
