Russia claims to have killed 30 “Ukrainian terrorists” after an attempted “invasion” of its territory in this border area

At least ten people have been injured this Thursday in new attacks against the Russian region of Belgorod, located on the border with Ukraine, as confirmed by the regional authorities, who have pointed to “a bad morning” and have stressed that “there are no enemies ” in the zone.

“There were no and there are no enemies in the territory of the Belgorod region,” said the regional governor, Viacheslav Gladkov, who noted that “there is a massive artillery attack” in the area. “The lives of civilians are under threat,” he said, before specifying that eight people have been injured in Shebekinski, while two others have been injured in Novopetrovka.

“If there is a need for an urgent evacuation, we will transfer equipment to their homes. Do not publish the concentration points, since they could be targets for people who are shooting at civilians, including children,” said the governor, who has assured that there will be population transfers “once the situation calms down”.

In this sense, he has advanced that “200 people” will be transferred to Penza, while on Saturday 600 people will be evacuated to Kaluga and Yaroslavl. For its part, the Belgorod regional government has denied that Ukrainian forces have crossed the border and has stated that “several Telegram channels have spread false information” on this point.

The Russian authorities have affirmed this Thursday that the situation in the city of Shebekisnki, located in the Belgorod region, is “difficult” and have confirmed that there have been new artillery attacks, although they have denied that the Ukrainian forces have managed to cross the border.

“The situation in the Shebekinski district is difficult at the moment. There are artillery attacks and sounds of battle are heard. The Russian Armed Forces are working, but there is no invasion by the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” they have settled, as reported by the Russian news agency Interfax.

For its part, the Russian government has assured that it has “prevented a new attempt by the Kiev regime to carry out a terrorist act against the civilian population of Shebekinski, in the Belgorod region” and has stated that “more than 30 Ukrainian terrorists , four armored vehicles, Grad rocket launchers and a van have been destroyed in the border area with Ukraine.”

The Russian Ministry of Defense has specified in a message on its Telegram account that Ukrainian troops have launched an “intense” artillery attack at around 3:00 a.m. (local time) and has reported that “Ukrainian terrorist formations made up of two motorized infantry companies reinforced by tanks tried to invade the territory in the area of ??the town of Novaya Tavolzhanka and Shebekinski”.

Border violations will not be allowed,” it has settled.

The Russian authorities already announced last week a temporary “resettlement” of the inhabitants of nine towns in the region after the attack perpetrated by armed men in Belgorod, which left at least one dead and more than a dozen injured. Moscow accused the Ukrainian Armed Forces of the attacks in Belgorod, the scene of an increase in attacks with artillery and drones in recent weeks, although the Government of Ukraine dissociated itself from what happened and responsibility was claimed by the National Movement of the Freedom Legion of Russia.
