SAN SEBASTIAN, June 1 (EUROPA PRESS) –

Osakidetza has activated the protocol on suspicion of a case of hemorrhagic fever and has launched its special high security and isolation resources. The allegedly infected person, from the Central African Republic, is stable and has been transferred to the High Biological Safety Unit of the Donostia University Hospital for patients with serious infectious diseases.

As reported by the Basque Health Service, the Osakidetza team of professionals has implemented the device and protocol “in less than 24 hours” in order to “offer the best care” to the person coming from the Central African Republic, “guaranteeing your isolation and safety”, as well as that of the professional team that cares for you.

The Donostia de Osakidetza University Hospital, one of the seven hospitals throughout the State that has a unit with special high-security and isolation resources for the treatment of this disease, has implemented the protocol to deal with the case that has arrived this early morning to the hospital.

The person presumably infected has been transferred to the High Biological Safety Unit of the Donostia de Osakidetza University Hospital for patients with serious infectious diseases. He is stable and awaiting the results that in the next few days confirm or not his condition.
