Blanes, Cardona, García and Corbera -the last three had already achieved the bronze medal in the Uphill test, where Alejandro García also won the individual bronze-, completed a fantastic test in which they were only surpassed by Uganda, with Italy closing the podium.
Andreu Blanes finished in sixth position (41:31), first for a non-African runner, while Oiol Cardona was eighth (42:44), Alejandro García fifteenth (43:23) and Miquel Corbera nineteenth (43:44). Ugandan Samuel Kibet (40:02) was proclaimed champion ahead of Kenyan Patrick Kipngeno (40:12) and fellow Ugandan Timothy Toroitich (40:26).
