Frame the debate on the need to reduce the working day and adapt the schedules to the rest of Europe

MADRID, 4 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The second vice president and Minister of Labor and Social Economy, Yolanda Díaz, indicated this Monday that it does not seem reasonable to her that in Spain restaurants are open at one in the morning, since in the rest of Europe they close earlier.

“It’s crazy,” Díaz denounced during a meeting of Sumar’s parliamentary group in Congress, where among other issues he spoke about the reduction in working hours that the Government wants to promote in the legislature.

A reduction in working hours that, in his opinion, can “backbone” Spanish society, but to do so it has to be accompanied by the rationalization of times in society, since he considers that the hours of some hospitality establishments are not reasonable nor are that meetings be called at eight in the afternoon. “It is not reasonable,” Díaz asserted.

The minister has indicated that her department is working with a group of 60 people on the issue of time rationalization. In fact, the head of Labor discussed this issue ten days ago in a meeting with the employers’ associations of the tourism sector and highlighted the time differences that exist with the rest of Europe.
