The president of the Balearic Government, Francina Armengol, warned this Thursday that if tourism has generated “results that businessmen consider historic”, the negotiation to update wages in the coming months “must include equally historic and at the same time sustainable increases in time”.
This is how Armengol expressed himself during the informative breakfast of Europa Press in Madrid, where he wanted to “demand generosity” when addressing the income pact. All in all, this increase must be “sustainable” and the improvement in purchasing power must be “balanced with the competitiveness that next year will demand, now marked by economic uncertainty throughout Europe”, especially in vital markets for the Balearic Islands such as Germany and the United Kingdom.
