MADRID, 7 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The journalist and television presenter Ksenia Sobchak has returned to Russia in the last few hours, according to sources quoted by the Russian news agency TASS, nearly two weeks after fleeing the country after a search of her home in an alleged extortion case involving to its commercial director, Kirill Sujanov.
“Ksenia Sobchak has crossed the border between Russia and Latvia through the Burachki border crossing, in the Peskov region,” these sources have indicated, without the Russian authorities having ruled for the moment on the possible return of the journalist.
The home of Sobchak, daughter of the former mayor of St. Petersburg Anatoli Sobchak, was the target of a raid at the end of October despite the fact that there is no procedural order against her, although she is wanted by the Russian authorities.
The operation took place after Sukhanov was arrested after proceedings were opened against him for an alleged extortion of 11 million rubles from Sergei Chemezov, CEO of Rostec and very close to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
On September 12, Russian police checked one of Sobchak’s Telegram channels for “LGBTI propaganda” after interviewing Russian tennis player Daria Kasatkina, who revealed this summer that she was a lesbian.
