The Ukrainian state operator Ukrenergo announced on Monday power cuts in seven regions of the country, including the capital, for the third consecutive day, all due to the destruction of energy infrastructure with missiles and drones by Russia.

The outages will affect kyiv region, kyiv capital, Chernigov, Cherkasi, Yitomir, Sumy, Kharkov and Poltava, according to the Ukrenergo statement published on its Telegram channel.

“The country’s power grid is still unable to resume full operation after the Russian terrorist attacks. In some regions, we have to introduce blackouts to avoid overloading the high-voltage infrastructure,” the company detailed in its message.

He also recalled that there will be “emergency shutdowns” in certain areas of the country if needed, stressing that if this situation is reached, electricity could disappear earlier than expected and consumption restrictions could last longer.

“Energy companies do everything possible to reduce the number and duration of outages, we repair networks non-stop and on weekends. We hope for your understanding and help,” Ukrenergo riveted.
