US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has announced an additional $400 million military aid package to Ukraine to “help its brave defenders protect their country from Russian aggression.”
Blinken has highlighted in a statement that it is the 25th package of weapons and equipment that the United States has delivered to Ukraine since August 2021 and has detailed that “it includes weapons, ammunition and equipment from inventories of the US Department of Defense”.
“This delivery will raise the total of US military assistance to Ukraine to an unprecedented level of about 19.3 billion dollars since the beginning of this Administration,” he pointed out, before emphasizing that “the United States will continue to be, together with more of 40 allies and partners, on the side of the people of Ukraine as they defend their freedom and independence with great courage and endless determination.
“The air defense, long-range and precision firing capabilities we are delivering are carefully calibrated to benefit Ukraine on the battlefield as it advances in Kherson and Kharkov,” Blinken indicated in its statement, posted on the Department’s website State of the art.

The President of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelenski, has shown his gratitude to his American counterpart, Joe Biden, in a message on his Twitter social network account in which he has also had words to the “friendly people of the United States for once again showing solidarity” with the European country.
“The aid package includes Avenger air defense systems and missiles for Hawk air defense systems. Together we are building an air shield to protect Ukrainian civilians. We are bringing victory closer to the aggressors,” he said.
