ASTANA, Kazakhstan, May 24, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — Elena Rybakina, Kazakhstan’s best tennis player, has made the Forbes list of Asia’s 30 Under 30, cementing her position as one of the most outstanding young athletes of the Asia-Pacific region. The tennis star rose to fourth place in the world rankings after winning the Italian Open, held in Rome on May 20.

The list includes 300 young entrepreneurs, leaders and trailblazers from across the region, all under the age of 30, who are making positive change and driving innovation amid global economic uncertainty and challenging environment.

Rybakina was one of 30 notable honorees in the Entertainment and Sports category, Forbes reported in a statement. The list includes a total of 10 categories, each represented by 30 awardees. More than 4,000 candidates were evaluated by the Forbes Asia team and a panel of expert judges based on various factors including funding and/or revenue, social impact, inventiveness, and potential.

Rybakina became the first Kazakh player to win a major tennis title when she secured victory at Wimbledon in July 2022. She won her second WTA 1000 title at the 2023 Italian Open in Rome on Saturday after defeating to Angelina Kalinina in the final. In March of this year, she won her first WTA 1000 title at the Indian Wells tournament, where she prevailed in the final against her then world number 2, Belarusian Arina Sabalenka.

Earlier this year, the 23-year-old tennis star donated part of his match proceeds to junior tennis players and a dog rescue program in Kazakhstan.
