Mapfre has gathered its directors in Villanueva de la Serena (Badajoz) to finalize its new strategic plan, which it will present at the next shareholders meeting, scheduled for March 15.
During the meeting, the evolution of the company and the strategic challenges it faces in the short and medium term were analyzed, as reported by the insurer in a statement.
In addition, Mapfre directors have delved into the challenges of the current economic and geopolitical scenario, and the group’s objectives for the coming years, as well as the new roadmap that the company will present at the general meeting of shareholders.
Beyond the top business managers of the insurance group in the world, members of the executive committee, managers of corporate areas and the different business units have also participated in this meeting, who have held work meetings analyzing the markets in which they operate. Mapfre operates.
Along with these work days, the managers have also enjoyed and gotten to know some of the cultural and tourist spaces in the region, among which, in addition to the Guadalupe monastery, Villanueva de la Serena, Don Benito and Medellín, stand out.
Mapfre has made public this week the Group’s results for 2023, a year in which profit amounted to 692 million euros, 7.7% more than the previous year, and premiums grew by 9.7%. , up to 26,917 million, the highest figure in the history of the group.
During the press conference to present these accounts, the president of Mapfre, Antonio Huertas – who attended these sessions – announced that the company will update the objectives of its strategic plan for the period between 2022 and 2024 to adapt to the new market circumstances, although he defended that practically all the metrics have been met, except the combined ratio of the automobile business, which is currently at 106%, which implies that it is still not below the 96% marked in the strategic plan .
