The mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, accompanied by the vice mayor of the capital and municipal spokesperson, Inma Sanz, attended the solemn mass this Wednesday morning on the occasion of the festival of San Isidro, held at the Royal Collegiate Church. of San Isidro and officiated by the Cardinal Archbishop of Madrid, José Cobo, in addition to participating in the raising of the flag in the Plaza de Colón.
The ceremony was attended by the president of the municipal plenary session, Borja Fanjul; the delegates of the Government areas of the Madrid City Council and the former mayor of the capital José María Álvarez del Manzano, together with the councilors of the city districts and representatives of the different municipal groups in the Consistory.
Previously, the mayor of Madrid presided over the solemn act of raising the national flag that took place in the Discovery Gardens in Plaza de Colón, accompanied by the Chief of the Air Staff, Javier Salto, and the Head of the Group from Air Force Headquarters, Alejandro Chueca.
After the hoisting, a parade took place of the mixed company formed by sections of the three armies, the Civil Guard, the squadron of spenders and the Music Unit of the General Air Command.
