He defends that Spain needs “a statesman, not a showman”
The president of the European People’s Party (EPP), Manfred Weber, asked this Thursday to vote for the PP in the elections to the European Parliament on June 9 to “defend the rule of law” in Spain.
“We will win the next European elections and I tell you that we will have a clear focus on what is happening in the rule of law in Spain,” he declared at the presentation of the PP’s European candidacy in Barcelona.
He has criticized that “convicted terrorists” can now achieve freedom and has demanded the separation of powers, and has also warned of the need to defend Europe in the face of the result of the US presidential elections in November.
He has criticized the fact that the President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, has been, literally, absent for a weekend without governing the country, and has vindicated the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo: “Spain needs a statesman, not to a ‘showman’.
Furthermore, he has highlighted his support for Feijóo to defend “the rule of law” in Spain.
Weber has emphasized the need to defend Europe and has alluded to the upcoming US presidential elections: “In the long term, 330 million Americans will not defend 440 million Europeans.”
“We have to build a united and strong defense European Union, so that no one, including Putin, considers attacking for a second,” he added.
