Madrid, November 27, 2023.- Promote the well-being of people with disabilities, as well as their inclusion in an equitable manner in the daily life of society. With this objective, intu Xanadú has prepared a help guide with which it also joins the celebration of the International Day of People with Disabilities on December 3.

The guide has been developed with the advice of ArroyoInclusion, a non-profit entity, located in Arroyomolinos, whose purposes are to promote the rights and social protection of people with functional diversity, and with which intu Xanadú has signed a collaboration agreement mutually committing to improving the quality of life of people with functional diversity and their families.

In this sense, the manual offers information from the initial planning phase until the moment of enjoying the experience on the day chosen for the visit; It allows you to know what to do in an emergency or how intu Xanadú workers can help you, a staff that has been trained to provide appropriate attention to each occasion.

Likewise, the guide also indicates which days and times are the “noisiest”, which are the busiest times or events, or when is the quiet hour in which the acoustic intensity will be reduced. During their visit to the center, they will also be able to borrow headphones for children and adults with hearing hypersensitivity, or a colored lanyard so that they are identified and the staff knows that they may need additional support during their visit. The functional diversity guide is available both in the intu Xanadú app and on the website.

100% accessible website

This guide is added to the accessible website developed by intu Xanadú to improve navigation for users with different abilities and from which it is accessed from the same original URL and from any computer. Designed by accessibility experts and tested by people with disabilities, this new website is aimed at users with blindness or low vision, lack of mobility in upper extremities, with paralysis or with low digital competence, who do not know the language or who read with difficulty and prefer to listen.

Accessibility criteria and tools that have positioned it among the best in the context of Web Accessibility, both in Madrid and nationally, and that have achieved that more than 3,000 monthly users benefit from its different keyboard navigation interfaces, commands voice, navigation for reduced vision or with large text.
