MADRID, 9 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Republican Senator Ron Johnson has won his reelection for a third term for the state of Wisconsin despite the fact that he was the main objective to unseat the Democratic Party, according to projections by NBC News and CNN.

Johnson has thus imposed himself on his rival, the lieutenant governor of Wisconsin Mandela Barnes, after a tough campaign and with some low blows. According to a Wesleyan Media Project study, 90 percent of Johnson’s campaign ads were attacks on Barnes.

Barnes led Johnson by about 5 points in the polls through September, but the campaign has allowed the Republican candidate to flip the polls.

Johnson is the Republican spokesman on the Senate’s Permanent Subcommittee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs, with which he will be able to promote investigations into the performance of the Joe Biden government, cases of corruption and the alleged influence of the White House in the FBI and in the Justice Department.
