SAN ROQUE (CÁDIZ), Feb. 15 (EUROPA PRESS) –

A vehicle loaded with contraband tobacco has rammed another official vehicle of the Civil Guard in Puente Mayorga, in the municipality of San Roque (Cádiz), although on this occasion no personal injuries were caused to the agents.

As indicated by the Unified Association of the Civil Guard (AUGC) in its X account, collected by Europa Press, the vehicle transporting contraband tobacco was intercepted by the agents and subsequently ended up colliding with the official vehicle.

For his part, Jucil explained in a statement that the events occurred this Thursday morning, around six o’clock, when a fleeing vehicle hit one of the Civil Guard from behind, subsequently fleeing. the driver, who ended up jumping into the water at a sports dock near the scene of the incident.

In this sense, he has indicated that after a boat was located that was unloading bales into a car, two agents, identified with vests, went ahead at the exit of a curve at the beginning of a straight line with the intention of stopping the boat. vehicle. The driver with the load did not pay attention to the signs to stop and at the end of this straight, more than 100 meters away, the official vehicle, at an illuminated intersection with priority lights, blocked his way, but despite the speed, the pursued car rammed the Civil Guard vehicle and managed to pass.

“What happened this morning, which fortunately has had no consequences for the civil guards, shows once again how dangerous this work is, especially in Campo de Gibraltar, and what pressures our colleagues in this area are under,” he said. the general secretary of Jucil, Ernesto Vilariño.

Likewise, he added that “on this occasion, fortunately, the civil guards have not suffered injuries during their intervention, but what happened expresses how the violence of these mafia organizations has increased in their operations.” “We continue to demand the declaration of dangerous activity for the work of the civil guards and the consideration of a Special Singularity Zone for the entire Campo de Gibraltar,” concluded the general secretary of Jucil.

This new episode against agents occurs after last Friday two Civil Guard agents died after being hit by a drug boat in the port of Barbate, an end that finally ended with the arrest and imprisonment of the six occupants of the boat, and two people who were going to pick them up in a vehicle in La Línea de la Concepción were also arrested.
