MADRID, 28 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The InfoJobs employment platform registered a total of 12,200 job vacancies last May to work as a dependent in all its different categories at the start of the sales campaign, which represents an increase of 46% compared to the month previous, when almost 8,400 vacancies were recorded, according to the report published by the platform this Wednesday.

In this sense, the needs of the summer season usually lead to an increase in vacancies linked to certain jobs and, with the data handled by InfoJobs, it is confirmed that hiring at the start of the sales has been “very significant”. The platform has been finalized.

Specifically, for the dependent profile, the categories that have generated the most employment in the sales period are retail, with more than 5,800 vacancies; commercial and sales, with more than 2,600 jobs offered, and customer service, which exceeds 2,200 vacancies.

InfoJobs has recalled that the current sales campaign will be marked by the lower purchasing power of Spaniards and the drop in accumulated savings of families that has sustained consumption in the last three years, as has also been pointed out by the Spanish Confederation of Commerce (CEC ), which estimates that sales will remain below pre-pandemic levels, although billing figures are expected to grow by at least 5% compared to 2022.

For the Director of Communication and Studies at InfoJobs, Mónica Pérez, the current economic context, marked by the increase in mortgage prices and the loss of purchasing power, has reduced consumption in many households and has changed purchasing habits.

For this reason, Pérez has highlighted that the promotions and discounts offered by the summer sales are “a good opportunity” to boost sales and stimulate trade, especially during the first days.

According to the most demanded profiles in the month of May, the presence of a dependent stands out as the second most demanded job position at the national level, with 12,235 vacancies, ranking behind telemarketer, which registers more than 19,000 jobs offered.

In this way, the employee profile is positioned, according to InfoJobs, ahead of some profiles that have been in great demand in recent months, such as store clerk, with almost 9,700 jobs, or waiter, with more than 8,000 vacancies.
