LaLiga has summoned its clubs to an Extraordinary Assembly this coming Thursday, “with the aim of analyzing” the current situation of the future new Sports Law, “as well as assessing and deciding on possible actions”, they indicated this Tuesday from the employers’ association.
Last Friday, within a meeting of the Association of Professional Leagues (ALPE), of which LaLiga is a part, this new legislative framework was debated, which is currently undergoing parliamentary proceedings in the Culture and Sports Commission of the Congress of Deputies , and on which the body chaired by Javier Tebas, together with the ACB, the Asobal, the LNFS and the F League, showed their “concern about legal insecurity.”
In fact, this Monday, the LaLiga clubs had a meeting at the Ministry of Culture and Sport after their amendments to the new legal text were not accepted on the day of the presentation. “They have listened to us, they are going to try to solve the problems, and if we had to make other decisions we would, but let’s not start the house from the roof, let’s start by talking and solving the problems,” warned the president of Sevilla, José Castro, before a possible strike threat.
“We hope it will be resolved, the minister is going to study it calmly and try to resolve what is best for professional football, which we have shown that in recent years we have created one of the most powerful leagues in the world and no impediments can be placed in a law to prevent it from continuing to grow”, added the leader, also a member of the Delegate Commission of LaLiga, in statements collected by the Sevilla website.
