The elected president of Argentina, Javier Milei, has invited the Brazilian president, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, to his inauguration, which will take place on December 10, despite the fact that the candidate of La Libertad Avanza (LLA), who He is an ally of former President Jair Bolsonaro, called the head of the Brazilian Government “corrupt” or a “thief” during the electoral campaign.

“I send you this message, bearer of my cordial greetings and in order to convey to you the invitation to accompany me, on December 10, in the events that will take place here on the occasion of my assumption of the Presidential Command,” the invitation reads. , in which he shows his “desire” that the “time together” as presidents “be a stage of fruitful work and building ties.”

The elected representative and future Argentine Foreign Minister, Diana Mondino, has traveled to Brasilia, “on a lightning trip that was kept secret until the last moment”, to personally deliver the letter of invitation to the head of Brazil’s diplomacy, Mauro Vieira, reports the Argentine news agency Télam.

“Both nations have many challenges ahead of us and I am convinced that an economic, social and cultural change, based on the principles of freedom, will position us as competitive countries in which its citizens can develop their capabilities to the maximum. and, thus, choose the future they want,” the letter reads.

Likewise, he highlights that both “countries are closely linked by geography and history”, which is why they seek to “continue sharing areas of complementarity, at the level of physical integration, trade and international presence” that “translates, on both sides, into growth and prosperity for Argentines and Brazilians”.

For his part, Mondino, in his meeting with Vieira, stated that Milei, who even stated that he would not meet with Lula if he were head of state because he is also a “communist”, “never said anything aggressive” about the Brazilian president: “They created a wrong image. Milei was never the monster they invented,” he asserted.
