MADRID, 20 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The women’s Real Madrid solved their visit to Albania this Thursday and won 0-2 against Vllaznia, in the first day of the Champions League group stage in which the white team adds its first three points against what is considered as ‘cinderella ‘ of the group.

Alberto Toril’s men increased their unbeaten streak and their full number of victories in a complicated start in which they took the first step to return to being, at least, among the eight best in the tournament. The madridistas thus become the first leader of Group A, although with three points there is also a PSG that beat Chelsea (2-1).

Forced not to fail, the white team came out with very clear ideas and through high pressure and with very advanced lines they maintained dominance throughout the first half. Possession and arrivals in the area were also a thing for Toril, who were unable to take advantage of the depth of Olga and Athenea with numerous crosses into the area. Esther had the clearest with a header but found the crossbar.

We had to wait until the second half to see the goalscoring debut of Toril’s team in European competition. Maite Oroz filtered a good ball to Esther, who, after getting away from the defender, found the hole in Williams’ goal. The white team was not satisfied and the insistence ended up paying off in the form of a penalty. Popovic knocked down Olga in the area and after deceiving the goalkeeper put the 0-2 on the scoreboard.

The Madrid team, who did not have much luck in the draw and surely fell into the ‘group of death’ against two candidates with level and experience such as the French Paris Saint-Germain and the English Chelsea, thus achieved a key victory against the ‘cinderella’ of the group.
