– Call for projects: More than 3 million investment for international audiovisual content at TCCF PITCHING 2024

TAIPEI, May 17, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA) is pleased to announce that the 5th Taiwan Creative Content Festival (TCCF) will be held from November 5 to 8 at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center. The “Project to Screen” section continues to invite international projects, with a total expected investment of more than 3 million dollars.

“Project to Screen”: Facilitate production and market access

The “Project to Screen” section includes four categories: feature films, series, animation and documentaries. Registration opens on June 3 and will be evaluated by a panel of international juries. The selected projects will receive training resources and will present their proposals during the TCCF, with assistance for accommodation. One outstanding project will receive the “Project to Screen: Best Project” award and a prize of US$30,000.

All selected projects can apply for TAICCA’s “Creative Content Development Program (CCDP) – Development Fund” and “Taiwan International Co-financing Program 2.0 (TICP 2.0) Option 2” within two years. Total funding exceeds $3 million and provides resources to advance project development and establish market connections. Both initiatives have contributed to success at the Berlinale and the Cannes Festival in 2024, paving the way for high-quality works with international marketing possibilities.

TCCF 2024 continues to collaborate with festivals, markets and international organizations to promote audiovisual works and talents in European and global markets. A project selected by Series Mania will be invited to participate in the 2025 competition. The BIFAN NAFF project market, the Focus Asia-All Genres market and the MIFFest project market will also select TCCF project proposals to participate in upcoming events.

TCCF award winners are making a big impact and gaining recognition at prestigious film festivals and markets. The documentary “After the Snowmelt”, winner of the “TAICCA Sur, the Trento Film Festival in Italy and Millennium Docs Against Gravity in Poland, showcasing Taiwan’s cultural and content strengths on the world stage.

In addition to the projects selected in the TCCF Project to Screen open call, projects from the TAICCA workshop in collaboration with the “Festival des 3 Continents / Produire au Sud”, the “Series Mania Institute” and professionals from the South Korean audiovisual sector.

Story to Screen Sessions: Showcase Adaptation Potential for Industry Buyers

Another section of TCCF PITCHING “Story to Screen” recommends story IPs with adaptation potential, including fiction and non-fiction, comics, and original story concepts. Along with the session called “Shoot the Book! TCCF” – a collaboration with SCELF -, “Story to Screen” will present marketable Taiwanese and French stories to domestic and international buyers and professionals, with the aim of facilitating adaptations, fostering collaborations and expanding the reach of compelling narratives.‍

Elevating Taiwan’s creative industry: TAICCA pioneers collaboration and financing

Homme TSAI, president of TAICCA, underlined the agency’s commitment to improving Taiwan’s creative industry. To further support the cultural investment environment, which became favorable following the amendment regarding the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Law, TAICCA has collaborated with major domestic telecommunications and technology companies, including ASUS and ADATA, as well as with international creative content companies such as CJ ENM Hong Kong and Warner Bros. Discovery Group, to establish funds, laying the foundation for the production of high-quality works with global appeal.

TCCF is a major annual event for the Asian creative content industry, attracting buyers and sellers from around the world to meet for business networking and negotiations. Divided into three main sections (PITCHING, MARKET and FORUM), the TCCF aims to promote exceptional works with potential for international marketing and influence, while actively promoting opportunities for the development, investment, sale and distribution of transmedia content.
