MADRID, 7 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Republican governor of the US state of New Hampshire, Chris Sununu, has said it would be “a terrible idea” for former US President Donald Trump to announce his presidential candidacy before Christmas.

Asked in an interview on the CBS network about the possible electoral pull that Trump could have if he presented his candidacy for the Presidency before the mid-term elections — which will be held this Tuesday — Sununu stated that “it will not have any effect ” and that announcing such a fact before Christmas “is a terrible idea”.

“It will have no effect on anything, and I mean that sincerely … We are all going to be very happy one way or another that the election is over on Tuesday. Everyone is going to want to take a breather and re-engage with their families. and tackle some really serious issues,” the New Hampshire governor said.

In this sense, he stressed that whether President Trump decides to run or not “is not going to make any difference”, since he predicts that up to a dozen more Republican candidates for the Presidency will run.

However, Sununu has maintained that he does not believe that the current US president, Joe Biden, will run again in the 2024 elections, as he has told the aforementioned network.

“I don’t think President Biden is going to run again. I think on both sides of the aisle there will be maybe a dozen individuals in the next 6 to 9 months who decide to run,” he added.
