ELCHE (ALICANTE), Nov. 7 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Argentine coach Jorge Almirón has been dismissed this Monday as coach of Elche CF after the defeat (2-1) against Real Valladolid last Saturday and due to the poor results of the Elche team that keep him as a bottom player in LaLiga Santander and the only club that has not yet won.
“Elche C.F. announces that Jorge Almirón has decided to step aside as coach of the first team. The club sincerely appreciates his work during this second stage in which he assumed, with great professionalism, the responsibility of directing the first team at a time delicate”, indicated the franjiverde club in its official statement.
Jorge Almirón took over from Francisco Rodríguez before the match against Valencia (2-2). In the four games he has led in his second stage at the Elche club, he has achieved two draws against Valencia and Espanyol (2-2) and three defeats against Real Madrid (0-3), Getafe (0-1) and Real Valladolid. (2-1).
Elche’s technical secretary, Sergio Mantecón, will sit on the Elche bench this Tuesday (7:00 p.m.) in the last league match before the break for the Qatar 2022 World Cup against Girona, which takes place at the Martínez Valero.
